'Mackies on the Beach' is a historic fixture in our lovely little village of Port Stanley, located on the shores of Lake Erie. This eatery has served 'Port' for well over a hundred years and was well established when the famous 'Stork Club' came and went. The facade has been reimagined many, many times over the years.
This original painting captures the beachside view of this iconic place caught in a moment in time. Even as I put the image onto canvas the landscape of this town is forever changing and this portrayal will become one of many snapshots of how it looked in your memory.
The Port Stanley Collection - The 'Port Stanley Collection' was inspired by the charming little fishing village in which I live. Here in 'Port' we also have a booming tourist trade with folks coming from far and near to enjoy summer cottages and our wonderful beaches, food and shopping. I love all these picturesque views around town and I hope you will too. It was so much fun creating my versions of our village and to capture the colorful quaint spirit of our unique little corner of the world. Enjoy!!
