Little Beach Umbrellas- Original Painting

'Little Beach Umbrellas' from the "Horizons Port Collection', a one-of-a-kind artwork. This painting shows a side beach called 'little beach'. This is the secondary beach here in port and backs onto an enclave of cottages (my husband grew up in one of those cottages). The last few years I've noticed that beach umbrellas have become quite the thing. I love the bright colors and festive vibe of them on a sunny day.   

The tree and these particular rocks lined up as a barrier to the parking lot, that gives the hint that this is 'little beach'

This original painting is a unique expression of the end of summer that can be enjoyed all year long in your home or cottage, or as a thoughtful gift to someone special.  

Horizons: The View From Port - I created this collection of paintings as a love letter to the lakeside beach village I live in. The feeling is that of post-tourist season, with the beaches empty and returned to the seagulls and the locals for the last bit of summer. Although it is an expression of a specific place it also has the universal appeal that all lake towns have always had for folks.     

At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun.
