'Lake Waves' is from the 'Lake Moods Collection' and is a one-of-a-kind original artwork.
The waves in this painting are a bit larger than on most days. I love the contrast between the dynamic waves and the wall of distant cliffside. Those cliffs are erosion in progress... the land worn away by the action of the water.
In order to paint this view I had to imagine the motion of the waves. I've spent many an hour looking at the waves to observe the rolling motion and the cresting white water as it tips over to complete the circle only to wash out again and repeat.
Lake Moods Collection - Capturing the ever changing moods of water and sky... I currently have artwork in galleries on both Lake Erie and Lake Huron. As a result, I've been spending time photographing and enjoying both these wonderful lakes views. I couldn't help but notice the variety of moods that each lake embodies... and just how quickly they change!
