Fishing Tugs Port Stanley, Original Painting 12x16

Fishing Tugs Port Stanley, Original Painting 12x16

Fishing Tugs of Port Stanley - Original Painting

'Fishing Tugs', is part of the "Port Stanley Collection' and a one-of-a-kind artwork. This is a quintessential view of Port. This design of fishing boat is unique to lake fishing especially on Erie. Our village has a family fishing tradition that continues even today. These tugs and what they represent is what gives our little village authenticity, substance and the feeling that this isn't just a pretty place, real people live and work here, the way they have always done.

I've always loved these boats, I can't help but anthropomorphize them , to me they have a vibe like a big prehistoric animal that each day goes out in the pre-dawn to catch a fill of fish and comes back later that day followed by flocks of seagulls hoping for a free snack. These tugs are the first to break a trail through the winter harbor ice as though emerging from hibernation and hungry for fish.

This original painting will bring the tradition and charm of Port Stanley into your home to enjoy year round.
