DAY 3/30 'Blanket Flowers' These are pretty spicy looking flowers with their banded yellow and red petals. My husband grew these blanket flowers from seeds that he collected on the beach, making this painting a real collaboration.
Instead of painting just one flower I chose to widen out and included a few. During the process I grouped the blooms closer together than they were in real life to make it more dynamic. This painting didn't come together for me till the end when I started to think of this is more of a graphic pattern and then lean into that. I could totally see this as a groovy fabric pattern.
