Day 13/31 - 'Orange Tulip', This is an orange tulip from the public garden of the condos where we live. This one is just at the high point where it's fully open but you know that in a few days those big petals will fall off. With flowers it's all about timing, here today gone tomorrow, especially with spring bulbs.
They're kind of like slow fireworks that way, they shoot up as green stick... the explosion starts to happen when the tulip head forms, then the petals start to open, then the flower fully opens, then poof, the petals fly away. I think that's why I love them, the beauty is fleeting, it gives me a sense of FOMO if I don't get around to see them all before they gone. The beauty of having a painting is that you can enjoy a wee bit of spring everyday!! Enjoy!!!

PROCESS: Each of the artworks will start as a pencil/ink drawing and then finish with watercolor.
