Red Geranium - Original Painting on Paper
Day 12/31 - 'Red Geranium', These geraniums are from a plant my husband has been over-wintering the last few years. We got them for free as a grocery store premium for buying a bunch of food... good freakin' deal lol! We get even more value since I think I've done a few paintings based on this plant.
Red is a hard color to paint. Depending on the shade of red the light form of the color looks either pink or rust. Red is also hard to photograph as the color gets flattened in pixel form and becomes a red blob. You have to tread lightly when creating with red. That being said, I'm delighted with how this one turned out, I kept the red AND the contrast. Enjoy!!!

PROCESS: Each of the artworks will start as a pencil/ink drawing and then finish with watercolor.
