DAY 11/30 'Chive Flowers'- These chives are a cherished possession that have moved with me from house to house. Many years ago my parents gave me this pot of chives that they dug up from the garden of the house I grew up in. They continue to be an herb that I delight in adding to my cooking. I think of my folks when ever I use them. I thought these chives in a painting would be a perfect way to pay homage to all this plant has given me.
At this time of year these were the only blossoms left. I used the color from a clay pot in the background as a foil to the purple, and some of the weeds as an interesting shape to contrast against the noodle form of the chive leaves. I love this plant and am really happy with how the painting turned out, I hope you enjoy it too!!
