DAY 10/30 'Morning Glories'- Can I just say flowers that are photosensitive and open and close depending on light, and other various conditions, are very hard to paint as plein air. It's like some strange floral peep show, now you see me, now you don't. I had to wait for just the right cloudy day to have a go at painting these lovelies. There are a few more blooms everyday, which have self seeded and are climbing up our deck mid-summer.
My hubby (bless his heart) ran all my errands just so I could continue to paint these while the had their little flower faces revealed. They really are such stunning flowers, with their deep purple petals and mysterious center that seems to glow as if from it's own internal light source.
I have to say I'm really delighted with how this painting turned out, I hope you enjoy it!!
