'Blue Jay Magnolia' from the "Flights of Fancy Collection'. I'm a bit of a bird geek... many years ago, I cared for a baby Blue Jay that fell from it's nest, and what I learned was that Blue Jays are... one, quite smart.... and two, have a horrible shrieking voice lol (especially when hungry). They make up for it by being very good-looking, their striking graphic markings and enticing blue color makes them stand out amongst birds. It's these features that attracted me to creating this piece.

I added the pink magnolias flowers as a foil for the blue, but also because my father-in-law had a magnolia tree and I just loved its big showy blooms each spring.
