Painting a Beach Tree Landscape, Time-lapse of Acrylic Paint on Canvas
Watch to see how I creates a small original beach painting, from start to finish!
This is a time-lapse painting of one of my original beach tree landscapes. I love the beach, and with this painting I get to share my love of summer at the beach. The scenery in this painting is a product of my imagination, so there was no source reference material.
You'll notice part way through the painting seems to turn upside-down... sometimes when I'm painting I'll turn the canvas upside-down so I can see the image as pure color, composition, light & shadow... then I turn it right side up to finish off. It seems odd I know, but it works for me lol.
This painting was created using acrylic paint on stretched canvas. I start with an orange base as it makes the colors I put on top brighter, plus and any gaps between strokes will show orange instead of white. This is how I usually start all my acrylic paintings. If you have any questions about my process and/or artwork, be sure to contact me!
Please enjoy the journey as I create this painting, and I hope you learn something new about making art!!! Cheers, Cathy : )
