Mini Sunset Painting Video

Painting a mini sunset water view in acrylics from start to finish! I'm showing you my art creation process using acrylic paint on canvas.

This is a time-lapse painting of one of my original landscapes, a small sunset landscape with lots of color and contrast between the white of the sun and the silhouetted trees and shadows.

I live by a lake so I adore capturing the beautiful colours of a sunset over the water!

This artwork was created using acrylic paint on a small 4"x6" gallery stretched canvas. It's a cute size to experiment with. If you want to try something new with a painting it's great to have a bunch of these small canvases on hand so you can quickly get your idea into paint, like a thumbnail painting.

I'm sharing this painting's progress since I thought beginners would learn a lot by seeing how to quickly lay down paint to capture a view. My palette for this pieces is the same as many of my other paintings...(Cadmium Red Medium, Cadmium Orange, Red Oxide, Light Green Permanent, Brilliant Yellow Green, Dioxazine Purple, Phthalocyanine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber, White and Black).

If you have any questions about my process or materials be sure to contact me

Enjoy the journey as I create this sweet little painting, and I hope you learn something new about making art and how to paint a landscape!!! Cheers, Cathy : )
