Flower drawing progress

Ever since I was a kid I would draw the things I wanted to see or have. Sketching lets me have a piece of whatever it is I want by giving it tangible expression, something to hold on to. So even if I can't have the actual thing, I can channel all my longing and desire into creating a drawing of the thing.

That being said, I'm sharing the steps towards my desire to see flowers lol. These sunny yellow blooms are from my camera roll, taken earlier in the year.

The act of drawing these flowers transported me back to that bright sunny summer day when I originally snapped the photo, just me and the bees enjoying the garden.
