Capturing the delicate colors and smooth soft petals of a rose. As I painted this rose I felt like the only thing missing is the delightful scent.  

When I was growing up my mom had a wonderful rose bush right outside the front door. The were gorgeous to look at, with their pale pink faces lifted to the sun. On a breezy day with the screen open you could smell the perfume of these lovelies flowers wafting through the air. I've been a fan of roses ever since, so thought this collection needed a rose painting to pay homage to that garden so many years ago.
