Three Pink Tulips Painting Process

Watch how I painted this bright colorful pink tulips landscape painting, from start to finish!

This is a time-lapse showing how I painted this '3 Pink Tulips' landscape in acrylic paint. I enjoyed creating this colorful artwork, it has a bold cheerful folk art style!

Several years ago I was commissioned by a previous client to create a painting for Cancer Care Manitoba in honour of Jackie Shymanski, the tulips in the painting honors her love of flowers.

The imagery in this painting is from my imagination, so no source material was references. I posted a very quick 1 minute time lapse of this painting a few years ago on my YouTube channel, but I thought I'd post this longer one so you could get a better sense of the process.

This painting was created using acrylic paint on stretched canvas. I start with an orange base as it makes the colors I put on top brighter, plus and any gaps between strokes will show orange instead of white. This is how I usually start all my acrylic paintings. If you have any questions about my process, materials or artwork be sure to ask CONTACT!

Please enjoy the journey as I create this painting, and I hope you learn something new about making art!!!
Cheers, Cathy : )
