This is a time-lapse of a poppy flower painting that created during one of my 31-day painting challenges, where I set the task for myself to paint a flower every day for month! Painting-a-day-2023
I'm excited to share this original poppy painting! I am a poppy fan, and for this artwork I was inspired by a photo I took while out for a walk. We have several public gardens in the village where I live so I love to take a bunch of photos at various times through the summer to capture what's in bloom.
This painting created using acrylic paint on watercolor paper. I start with an orange base as it makes the colors I put on top brighter, plus and any gaps between strokes will show orange instead of white. (this is how I usually start all my acrylic paintings).
