New Benches Bridge Painting

Sharing another Port piece from my new collection of paintings!!
This is the full finished version of my painting of the King George lift bridge. It separates the two halves of the village whenever a tall-ish boat needs to get through, and is a distinguishing feature of Port Stanley. During covid it underwent a major overhaul and new paint job.
I thought the bright red tree in the parkette was a nice foil for fresh turquoise of the bridge. There's a lot of rhythm of this view. The lines of the sidewalk and benches lead you into the painting... then you take a right turn over the bridge and up the tree to loop back around.
It took me a long time to figure out this view. I snapped sooo many photos of the bridge trying to find a unique way of conveying it. I wanted it to be more than just another bridge view, I wanted it to be part of the scenic joyful feel of our village.
