Lake view painting

berm orange painting

litle beach berm painting

For this painting I set up by the path from 'little beach' out to the berm here in Port. It was a very windy day so I had to hold onto my stuff to keep it from flying into the lake, my bike even fell off its kickstand!
This is the first plein air painting where I started with an orange base coat (to add some warmth to the colors). I'm happy with how this painting turned out, the wind gave lots of motion to the view and I tried to capture that, I feel like I did. The shadows the tree cast on the water was a fav part to paint, as well as the rocks.
If you'd like to follow my journey and see behind the scenes hop over to my Plein Air Project page, where I'll update my progress.
