Acrylic Painting Time Lapse | How to Paint a Moon Night Reflection
See how I painted this moon night landscape painting in acrylic on canvas from start to finish! See the full process of this artwork 'Moonrise Reflection' from my 'Little Moonrise Collection'. This painting has deep blue star-studded sky and cottages with full big bright full moon all reflected in rippling water.
This artwork was created using acrylic paint on an 8"x8" on stretched canvas. Painting tip... when you're creating a painting that has a strong directional light source like a full moon, make sure the direction of the shadows makes sense. I start with an orange base as it makes the colors I put on top brighter, plus and any gaps between strokes will show orange instead of white. This is how I usually start all my acrylic paintings.
My palette for this piece is the same as many of my other paintings...(Cadmium Orange, Red Oxide, Light Green Permanent, Brilliant Yellow Green, Dioxazine Purple, Phthalocyanine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber, White and Black)
If you have any questions about my process or materials be sure to ask CONTACT! Enjoy the journey as I create this sweet little painting, and I hope you learn something new about making art and how to paint a landscape!!!
