How To Paint a Daisy In Acrylic, Painting Time-lapse Tutorial
Watch how to create a daisy painting, from start to finish!
This is a time-lapse of a daisy flower painting that I created during one of my 31-day painting challenges (I tasked myself with painting a flower every day for month)! Painting-a-day-2023
I'm excited to share this original daisy painting with you! I feel like most folks are daisy fans (I know I am), they're such charming, unassuming flowers. I love seeing a field of them, their bright white flower heads bobbing in the summer sun.
For this artwork I was inspired by a photo I took while out for a walk. There are few feral fields and railway flats in the village where I live. Since these tracks of land seldom get mowed wild flowers abound. I enjoy taking photos at various times throughout the summer to capture the ever changing roster of what's in bloom.
This painting was created using acrylic paint on watercolor paper. I start with an orange base as it makes the colors I put on top brighter, plus and any gaps between strokes will show orange instead of white. (this is how I usually start all my acrylic paintings). If you have any questions about my process or materials be sure to contact me!
Enjoy the journey as I create this painting, and I hope you learn something new about making art and how to paint a flower!!!
Cheers, Cathy : )
